Mitsubishi certainly has a lot to be proud about for the 2011 year. The results are in, and the company's sales were up an astounding 41.9 percent this past year compared to 2010. This period of growth also represents the auto manufacturer's highest number of sales since 2008.
Mitsubishi President and CEO Yoichi Yokozama explains the company's success, stating, "The combination of fuel efficiency and performance presented by products like the Outlander Sport, Lancer, and Mitsubishi i are definitely resonating with customers. We are pleased that more consumers are choosing Mitsubishi products as they are beginning to feel more confident in the economy."1 Sales of the Mitsubishi i began in December 2011 in four select states: Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and California at certified Mitsubishi dealerships. The i's national rollout has actually been moved forward by nine months due to a huge amount of interest in the vehicle by the public. This means that most Mitsubishi dealers throughout the country, like Bill Penney Mitsubishi of Hunstville, AL should have the vehicle by March 2012 for test drives, and the i should be on sale everywhere by summer 2012.
In addition, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport had a great month in December with an increase of over 50 percent compared to December of last year. The Outlander is produced in Illinois. The Mitsubishi Lancer also saw an increase in sales.
Mitsubishi certainly seems to be doing something right with its new model lineup. If you'd like to join in on the fun, stop by Bill Penney Mitsubishi, located at 4808 University Dr NW Huntsville, Al 35816, or give us a ring at (256) 837-1111.
