Mitsubishi Tops EPA Fuel Economy Rates for 2012

It's official, Mitsubishi now produces the greenest car available. The Mitsubishi i EV tops 2012's EPA fuel ratings.  

Available at Bill Penney Mitsubishi in Huntsville, AL, i EV was measured at 112 MPG combined city/highway. Mitsubishi Motors scored first-place on the EPA's list of "Fuel Economy Leaders: 2012 Model Year" thanks to its EPA-rated 112 combined: 126 city, 99 highway MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent).

"We are very pleased to see that the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy have rated the 2012 Mitsubishi i as the top fuel economy leader in its annual Fuel Economy Guide," said Yoichi Yokozawa, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America. "With 17,000 i-MiEV-based units produced for various international markets, we look forward to providing North American consumers with an exceptionally well-engineered electric vehicle that has proven itself to be reliable, safe, efficient and very affordable in overall price and cost of operation."1

The EPA Fuel Economy Guide is their annual publication containing estimates for cars and trucks. The guide includes information for new car window stickers, as well as range of alternative fueled cars and tips for bettering fuel economy.
