Sparked by sales of the new-for-2010 Lancer Sportback, Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) today announced May 2010 sales of 4,737, an increase of 8.8 percent compared to May 2009.

It's the third straight monthly sales increase for MMNA. Over that period (March/April/May) sales have increased an aggregate 9.4 percent.

About 10 years ago the electric car seemed like science fiction. Now it is more then fact with car companies producing all-electric vehicles to add to their line up.

Mitsubishi is on their way to being one of the top electric car producers with their i-MiEV. Produced as a concept back in 2008, the i-MiEV is ready to be taken for a test drive at Bill Penney Mitsubishi in Huntsville, AL.

The i-MiEV runs off a 47-kilowatt engine driving the rear wheels and 330-volt lithium-ion battery pack, stored beneath the vehicle.
